Facilities & Venues
Our club is committed to providing facilities and equipment at our events for drivers, officials and spectators that are safe and meet the high standards of competition, and also the needs of pleasure activities and training events. One of our main priorities is ensure that drivers can focus most of their attention on their horse/pony and their driving during our events. We always try to make it as easy as possible for drivers to be able to see the course/signs/markers so they don’t have to focus on trying to work out where they should be going. This allows drivers to drive more confidently and achieve better results during our events, overall making the event a more pleasurable experience. An overview of our facilities and equipment is outlined below.
Facilities and Equipment:
Dressage – Large tower dressage markers with letters on all four sides, which make it easier for competitors, judges and spectators to read from any angle during dressage. New in 2014, full dressage arena surrounds for 100m x 40m arena.
Cones – Full set of imported international standard competition cones and balls. Cones numbers and letters marked on three sides so they can be easily read from all angles while driving the course. New in 2015 - wireless electronic timing equipment (accurate to 0.001s) for timing free from human error.
Marathon – Professionally made course signage. Cylindrical marathon obstacle gate signage for purpose built obstacles with lettering able to be viewed from all angles. Not only is this safe for horses with no protruding corners or sharp edges, it allows drivers to easily see the gates while driving the obstacle.
Communications – Large set of UHF Handheld CB radios for communications between judges, stewards and other officials during events and competitions and also during group coaching. Portable PA system with wireless microphones (including hand- held, hands-free headset and lapel microphones) for information sessions/briefings/presentations, playing music and event announcements. The system is also used for coaching with spectators/fence sitters able to easily listen and learn from the coach during the session while the coach is out in the arena or on the carriage with the learner driver.
